Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer

  

Salary: Starting at $25+/hour (depending on experience) + Full Benefits (Health, Dental, Life Insurance, 401k, Disability, Paid Holidays, Paid Vacation)

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana (100% Onsite – Relocation Required)

 

Schedule: Full-Time | Standard Business Hours | 100% Onsite | No Remote

Must-Haves:

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or Engineering Tech degree)
  • • Strong interest in geotechnical engineering or academic exposure to it
  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • • Willingness to relocate to Fort Wayne, IN
  • • Must be early in their career (entry-level only)
  • • Ability to pass a criminal background check

Nice-to-Haves:

  • • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or intent to obtain
  • • Certifications in soils and/or concrete
  • • Prior internship or hands-on experience in geotechnical or civil engineering
  • • Open to candidates needing visa sponsorship

About the Company:

GME Testing is a fast-growing, well-established geotechnical engineering firm based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Known for our small but highly effective team (25 employees total, 5 in engineering), we work with a broad range of clients including municipalities, contractors, architects, structural engineers, and developers. Our team includes 2 PEs, 2 EITs, and a recent graduate. We offer a collaborative environment where young engineers are given meaningful responsibilities and real growth opportunities from day one.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Fort Wayne team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate eager to jump into the field and build foundational skills in geotechnical engineering. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers to assess soil data, review site conditions, and contribute to technical reporting, all while collaborating with clients and other professionals in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • • Assist with evaluating project soils data, geological      literature, site surveys, and subsurface conditions
  • • Collaborate with in-house engineers, clients, architects, and      project stakeholders
  • • Help prepare geotechnical and foundation recommendation      reports
  • • Support soil classification efforts and site visits as needed
  • • Participate in lab testing, data analysis, and office-based      technical work
  • • Learn and progress into performing engineering calculations,      analysis, and full report writing
  • • Maintain quality and safety standards on all projects

Qualifications:

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or      related technical field)
  • • EIT certification or intent to pursue it
  • • Strong grasp of engineering principles and eagerness to grow      professionally
  • • Excellent communication skills
  • • Interest in working in the field and office, learning      hands-on
  • • Must be coachable, self-driven, and willing to relocate to      Fort Wayne
